What size are your pellets?

Forever Fuels supplies 6mm and 8mm (by diameter) pellets as standard. The diameter may vary by upto 0.5mm from the stated size.

Forever Fuels' premium pellets (recommended for non-industrial use) conform with the CEN/TS 14961 standard for the length: upto 5x the diameter for 6mm pellets (e.g. 30mm long) and 4x the diameter for 8mm pellets (e.g. 32mm long). As per the standard, a maximum of 20% by weight may be longer than this, upto 7.5x the diameter (e.g. upto 45mm long for 6mm pellets).

Locally-produced pellets will also mostly fall within this size specification, but are not guaranteed to do so. Hence, they are often more suitable for industrial systems with more robust fuel-handling and burning technology.

There is no minimum length, other than that fines are defined as being less than 3.15mm, so any pellet shorter than this will be regarded as a fine particle rather than a pellet.
