Change of control

Summerleaze Ltd took full ownership and management control of Forever Fuels in early August 2008. Summerleaze is committed to a substantial programme of additional investment, which is required to enhance Forever Fuels' infrastructure and systems, so that it can provide the efficiency, security, quality and value that its customers require. This investment will enable Forever Fuels to support the rapidly developing market for wood-pellet heating, and to maintain its position as Britain's leading nationwide supplier of wood-pellet fuel.

The following note, explaining the changes, was circulated to key contacts:

Last December, the formation of Forever Fuels was announced, to take forward the initial work done by the Energy Crops Company in the wood-pellet market.

Forever Fuels subsequently began trading on the 4th of February and has since worked closely with Cornwall, Nottinghamshire and other councils and private sector customers in providing a secure and reliable wood-pellet fuel supply which has proved increasingly attractive as oil and gas prices have continued to rise.

The latest step in Forever Fuels’ development will be its relocation to new offices alongside parent company Summerleaze from the 4th of August. The growth of the UK pellet market will require significant investment in supply infrastructure if standards of quality and service are to be maintained, and Forever Fuels is now refocusing to meet this challenge.

The company now deals with over thirty suppliers of boiler equipment and a wide range of end users from individual householders with small room heaters and boilers to national organizations with multiple sites and a range of large scale heating and electricity generating equipment, and sources fuel from a range of local and regional suppliers backed by the highest quality European imports where needed.

A new team at Maidenhead, headed by Bruno Prior, will deal with product orders, quality systems, and the company's growing logistics network. Simon Worth crosses over from Summerleaze to be the new Commercial Manager, complementing the existing sales team of Ian Armstrong and Clive Moulton.

Graham Hilton will remain with the company as a non-executive director, assisting with major accounts and the ongoing lobbying for recognition of the importance of the heat market within the UK’s renewable-energy mix.
